Rabbi Shalom Hammer, who has lived in Israel for 32 years, is a dedicated educator, public speaker and author.

He serves as a lecturer and educator for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and for Pre-Military Academies throughout Israel. Rabbi Hammer’s mission to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention is personal and deeply rooted in his daughter Gila’s suicide at the age of 18.

He channels his grief into action through his work with Gila’s Way. He has authored ten books, including the Gila Spreads Joy series of children’s books, which were written in memory of Gila. Rabbi Hammer is a renowned lecturer in Israel and abroad, and is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by suicide.
